Lehigh Safety Shoe Co. has been providing protective toe safety shoes since the early 1920’s initially under the name of Lehigh Rubber and Leather Company.

There have been many upgrades in technology over time allowing for better safety shoes.  One of the key features Lehigh has been utilizing in a number of styles including our Lehigh SlipGrips 6” Composite Toe insulated work boot stock # 5488 is our Spider Grip tread pattern that is ideally designed for indoor work environments with liquid contaminants.        

Lehigh SlipGrips stock # 5488 work boot is also made with a Non-metallic composite toe cap.  The combination of this toe cap along with the other features of 5488 allow this style to meet the highest ASTM F2413-05 Protective Toe footwear standards for Impact & Compression resistance.

The unique combination of this toe cap’s protective properties along with it being a non-metallic material, make it ideal for areas requiring protective toe safety shoes that may have to pass through metal detectors during work.  This is well suited for various transportation and prison oriented work areas.

Adding to the Lehigh stock # 5488 work boot feature package is its 400 grams of Thinsulate Ultra insulation.  This unique combination of a composite toe cap with Thinsulate insulation being used along with an outsole tread that is indoor oriented may appear confusing, but can potentially be an aid in cold indoor work environments such as with freezers.

As a further addition, Lehigh stock # 5488 work boot also complies with ASTM F2413-05 Electrical Hazard standards. This type of work boot is made with insulating bottoms providing secondary electrical hazard protection to those areas dealing with open circuits under dry conditions, but also can be worn in work areas requiring only basic protective toe work boots.
